Four fields carry most knowledge work forward

Use a compact transfer with these elements:

  1. The current artifact or exact changed section.
  2. The source pointers that support retained claims.
  3. The decision made during the completed stage.
  4. The open questions that the next stage must preserve or resolve.

This packet is smaller than the full history. It carries the working state, not every conversation that surrounded it.

Preserve relationships without overloading the packet

W3C PROV-O provides terms for describing relationships among entities, activities, and agents. CommonMark makes the transfer readable as plain text. RFC 8493 describes BagIt, a format for packaging files with manifests when a larger bundle must move intact.

Those standards support provenance, readable structure, and packaging. They do not decide which business detail is true.

Carry only the deciding material

For the synthetic handoff, the next stage needs the first brief, the source pointer, and the finding about the unsupported Saturday sentence.

Keep handoffs separate from migration

A handoff moves work from one stage to the next inside the same job. It does not answer how to migrate an entire workspace between products. It also does not define the task from scratch.

This method fits work where stages have different responsibilities or may occur at different times. It adds little value when one person completes a disposable task in a single sitting and no later decision depends on the record.

Connect the adjacent decisions

Use Map an AI Workflow for One Recurring Job to place the handoff in the whole path. Check AI Workflow Stages when the transition exposes a weak boundary. Continue to Human-in-the-Loop AI Workflow when the receiving stage includes an accountable choice.
